My 4 year old loves her guitar, she now jams with her brother. It was funny to watch my little girl as she made a guitar with an egg box and an elastic band for the string and she would play it while her brother was playing guitar hero on his wii game, she would stand there dancing and plucking the one elastic band, and if she caught you watching her she would shut the door, which is why i bought the guitar so they could have jamming sessions together.
